ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 22nd, 2018 and charged with assault. It is alleged on June 18th, 2018, the youth assaulted another youth who was known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 22nd, 2018 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the youth was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody pending a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
ASSAULT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 22nd, 2018 and charged with assault and breach of recognizance for failing to report to police. It is alleged on May 28th, 2018 the man assaulted his son. It is further alleged the man failed to report to police on June 19th, 2018, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On June 22nd, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
RESIST ARREST, BREACH, POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 23rd, 2018 and charged with resist arrest, possession of stolen property, and breach of undertaking for being within 100 metres of a certain address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 1st, 2018, the youth was in possession of a stolen bicycle. It is further alleged on June 22nd, 2018, the youth was within 100 metres of a certain residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On June 23rd, 2018 police located the youth and advised him he was under arrest, at which time he fled the area and was located a short time later. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Martin Gauthier-Newton, 24, of Crysler was arrested on June 23rd, 2018 and charged with possession of stolen property and breach of undertaking for consuming alcohol. It is alleged the man was found to be in possession of stolen license plates and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody and was found to have allegedly consumed alcohol, despite his conditions. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 26th, 2018.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 24th, 2018 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument, the man assaulted his wife and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 31st, 2018. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, INTIMIDATION, THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 24th, 2018 and charged with assault, mischief, intimidation and uttering threats. It is alleged between January-June, 2018, the man assaulted and threatened his wife. The man also allegedly damaged a fan in the residence and made threats to harm his wife’s family and damage her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 24th, 2018, police located the man during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 24th, 2018 and charged with assault x 4 and mischief. It is alleged on 4 separate occasions on June 24th, 2018, the man assaulted his girlfriend and also damaged her cell phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 24th, 2018 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged between June 1–16, 2018, the man repeatedly sent messages to his ex-girlfriend, despite being warned not to by police. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 24th, 2018 the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
