Cornwall Man Charged For Threatening Girlfriend’s Car #CCPS 071018

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 9th, 2018 and charged with threats and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 8th, 2018, the man threatened to damage his ex-girlfriend’s car. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 9th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 21st, 2018. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 9th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on July 6th, 2018 for a criminal harassment charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 9th, 2018, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter




MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 9th, 2018 and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on July 9th, 2018, the woman damaged a window in her ex-boyfriend’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Laurin, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on July 9th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged in May and June, 2018, the man took a motor vehicle belonging to someone known to him without permission and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 9th, 2018 police attended a Brookdale Avenue business as the man had allegedly removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
