Cornwall Man Charged After Choking GF & #CCPS Shoplifter of the Day! 081518

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – John Donais, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on August 14th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on January 8th, 2018 for breaches and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 14th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jaygar Rosenberg, 31, of Montreal was arrested on August 14th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for being outside of British Columbia without written permission, being in possession of drug paraphernalia, and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 14th, 2018, while police were conducting a traffic stop, the man was found in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CHOKING, ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS, BREACH, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Chesterville man was arrested on August 14th, 2018 and charged with overcome resistance (choking), assault, assault with a weapon, threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of recognizance for being within 50 metres of a certain address. It is alleged on August 14th, 2018, the man assaulted his girlfriend, choked her and threatened to harm her while holding a bat. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
