FATAL COLLISION ON COUNTY ROAD 17
Road Closed
(EAST HAWKESBURY TOWNSHIP) – On August 21, 2018 at approximately 12:10 p.m., officers from the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Prescott-Russell Paramedic Service, and the East Hawkesbury Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 17, between Tupper Street and Golf Road in East Hawkesbury Township.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are attending the scene to assist with the investigation. This collision involved three (3) passenger vehicles and has one confirmed fatality. Occupants of other vehicles involved sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries.
County Road 17 is closed at Tupper Street and Gourley Road and detours will be in effect for several hours.
The investigation is in the preliminary stages and an update will be issued when accurate and confirmed information becomes available.
