#CCPS Cornwall Community Police Service Blotter for Tuesday Oct 9, 2018

BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH, OBSTRUCT JUSTICE, INTIMIDATION, EXTORTION

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Chesterville man was arrested on October 5th, 2018 and charged with the following:

• Break and enter
• Obstruct justice
• Intimidation
• Extortion
• Breach of recognizance (for contacting and being within 150 metres of his ex-girlfriend)
• Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on June 22nd, 2018, the man entered the residence of his ex-girlfriend and removed property without her permission. It is further alleged on June 26th, 2018, the man made threats to not return her property if police were involved. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 5th, 2018, the man was located and was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – David Johnson, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on October 6th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Fourteenth Street and Brookdale Avenue. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 23rd, 2018.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Wollinger, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on October 6th, 2018 and charged with assault with a weapon and threats. It is alleged the man threatened another man known to him while holding a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 6th, 2018, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 6th, 2018.

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Robert Lavictoire, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on October 6th, 2018 and charged with threats and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man threatened to harm a man known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On October 6th, 2018, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 6th, 2018.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Martintown man and a 20-year-old Cornwall man were both arrested on October 6th, 2018. The 45-year-old man was charged with assault cause bodily harm, and the 20-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon and threats. It is alleged during an argument on October 6th, 2018, the 45-year-old man assaulted his stepson, the 20-year-old-man, causing an injury that required medical attention. It is further alleged the 20-year-old stepson threatened to harm his stepfather with a knife and assaulted him with an object. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, both men were taken into custody and charged accordingly. The 45-year-old man was released to appear in court on November 6th, 2018 and the 20-year-old man was released to appear in court on November 15th, 2018.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, THREATS, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Donovan Conlon, 32, and Heather Chaloux, 29, both of Orleans, were arrested on October 7th, 2018 and charged with the following:

Donovan Conlon:
• Assault
• Assault with a weapon x 3
• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

Heather Chaloux:
• Threats x 3
• Assault
• Assault with a weapon
• Mischief under $5000

It is alleged on October 7th, 2018, the man was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner, ramming it into another motor vehicle multiple times. The driver of the other motor vehicle was allegedly assaulted by the man, and assaulted with a cup by the woman. It is further alleged the woman caused damage to the motor vehicle and made threats to harm the occupants inside. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man and woman were taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

FRAUD UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Denis Cote, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on October 7th, 2018 and charged with fraud under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation for consuming alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 7th, 2018 the intoxicated man was in possession of two bank cards that did not belong to him and police were contacted to investigate. On October 7th, 2018, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 20th, 2018.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marc Pharand, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on October 7th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to reside at a certain address. It is alleged the man was not residing at a certain address, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. During a traffic stop on October 7th, 2018, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jesse Benedict, 34, of Hogansburg, NY was arrested on October 8th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on June 18th, 2018 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 8th, 2018, a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the man from the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service as they had the man in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
