#OPP Report Shotguns Drugs & Domestic Assaults in SD&G 011719

WARRANT EXECUTED -WEAPONS SEIZED

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) On January 16, 2019, members of the SD&G OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Search Warrant at a property on Rowena Road, South Dundas Township. This resulted in the seizure of several weapons (shotgun).

Marc MARTIN (26) of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Unauthorized Possession of a firearm

-Careless Storage of Firearm, weapon, prohibited device and ammunition

– Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition order

– Fail to comply with conditions of an Probation Order ( 8 counts)

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear Ontario court of justice in Cornwall.      

DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON) – On January 16, 2019 at approximately 3:42pm, Community Street Crime Unit with the assistance from Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 13, North Dundas Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected cocaine.

The male driver, Gerald GRAVELLE(68) of South Dundas Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking

– Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

– Use of plates not in accordance with regulations (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg March 5, 2019.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON) – On January 16, 2019 at 7:11pm SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of domestic assault in progress.  Officers arrived on scene and intervened to remove the male from attacking the female. The male then became aggressive with officers at scene. Further investigation conducted by members of the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police revealed a 50-year-old male resident of North Dundas assaulted his common-law wife with a weapon on multiple occasions

The 50-year-old male of North Dundas faces charges of:

–             Assault with a weapon (4 counts)

–             Assault ( 5 counts)

–             Uttering Threats ( 2 counts)

–             Mischief

–             Assault with intent to resist arrest

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
