SD&G #OPP Round Up for Monday January 28, 2019

SD&G OPP NEWS

(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 130 calls for service from Friday January 25, 2019 to Monday January 28, 2019.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             15 Motor Vehicle collision

–             5 calls for Police assistance

–             17- 911 calls

–             9 traffic complaints

–             8 traffic hazards

–             4 Traffic enforcement occurrence’s

–             2 Domestic disputes

–             4 thefts

–             1 suspicious activity call

–             1 sexual assault call      

–             4 family disputes

–             3 warrant call             

–               1 assault call

–             5 mental health calls

ASSAULT- DOMESTIC 

(NORTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On January 25, 2019 at approximately 11:11pm Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his girlfriend. 

A 21-year-old male of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault (2 counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria court on March 6, 2019.

SD&G OPP INVESTIGATING MSV COLLISION

(SOUTH GLENGARRY, ON) – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a single Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) collision on the OFSC Trails near Kraft Road, South Glengarry Township.

On January 26, 2018 at approximately 1:22am, officers of the SDG OPP responded to a Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) collision involving one occupant. The male driver lost control of the snowmobile and struck a ditch. The male (48) of Cornwall, Ontario was transported to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. SD&G OPP with the assistance of (TCI) Traffic Collision Investigators continue the investigation.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – On January 27, 2019 at approximately 7:25pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a single vehicle collision on County Road 14 in South Stormont Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.  

Austin BENNETT (24) of North Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with; 

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood 

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court February 14, 2019.
