Montreal Shoplifter Busted in Cornwall Ontario #CCPS Police Blotter 013119

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Nadia Shahzad, 37, of Montreal was arrested on January 30th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the woman attended a Water Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on March 14th, 2019.

ROBBERY WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, POSSESSION OF BREAK-IN INSTRUMENTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Andy Courville, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Robbery with a weapon
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of break-in instruments
• Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)
• Breach of recognizance (for failing to notify a change of address)

It is alleged on January 30th, 2019, the man attended a Water Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. When approached by a Loss Prevention Officer, a brief struggle ensued, at which time the man brandished a knife and fled the area. Police were contacted and located the man shortly thereafter. He was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of knives and a quantity of break-in tools. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Frederick Delorme, 55, of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument with a taxi driver, the man assaulted the driver and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 28th, 2019.

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5000, UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD

Cornwall, ON – Nerissa Leblanc, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. She was also charged with theft under $5000 and unlawful use of credit card x 4. It is alleged the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer, at which time she assaulted the man and fled the area. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest. It is further alleged on January 30th, 2019, the woman removed various items, including a credit card, from a vehicle that did not belong to her, and used the credit card at four businesses. The woman was located by police on January 30th, 2019 and was and taken into custody on the strength of the warrant. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 28th, 2019 and charged with threats x 2. It is alleged on two occasions in January 2019, the man made threats to kill his ex-girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On January 28th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
