Cornwall #CCPS Police Blotter for Thursday FEB 7, 2019

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Robert Hart, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on February 6th, 2019 and charged with threats, as well as breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address and attending a certain address. It is alleged on January 31st, 2019, man made threats to harm a woman known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On February 6th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 28th, 2019.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Amanda Tryon, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on February 6th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on January 17th, 2019 for a weapons offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On February 6th, 2019, the woman was stopped at the Port of Entry and police were contacted. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Gabriel Manigat, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on February 6th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 6th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 6th, 2019 and charged with assault police. It is alleged while investigating an unrelated matter, the youth assaulted a police officer and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER $5000 X 2, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 6th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Theft under $5000 x 2
• Domestic assault
• Mischief
• Breach of recognizance x 2 (for attending a Second St. business and failing to sign in to police)

It is alleged on January 28th, 2019, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. It is further alleged on February 5th, 2019, the man assaulted his girlfriend during an argument, and caused damage to the residence. The man also attended a Brookdale Avenue business on February 6th, 2019 and removed merchandise, again making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 6th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, IMPAIRED, REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – Darren Cook, 31, of Hogansburg, NY was arrested on February 7th, 2019 and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, impaired operation, and refusal. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner in the area First Street and Amelia Street while under the influence of alcohol. The man failed to provide a proper sample of his breath upon demand during a traffic stop and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
