DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 8th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument with her boyfriend on February 28th, 2019, the woman assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. On March 8th, 2019, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Gregory Malenfant, 32, of Cornwall was arrested on March 8th, 2019 and charged with breach of probation for being within 100 metres of a certain address, attending a certain street, and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 7th, 2019, the man attended a certain address, despite his conditions, and an investigation ensued. On March 8th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on April 11th, 2019.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Matthew Benedict, 35, of Akwesasne was arrested on March 8th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 8th, 2019, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ARSON x 2, POSSESSION OF INCENDIARY MATERIAL, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Erica Brazeau, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on March 8th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Arson – Disregard for human life
• Arson – Damage to property
• Possession of incendiary material
• Breach of undertaking

It is alleged on March 3rd, 2019, the woman, while in possession of a fire accelerant, set fire to a residence and vehicle belonging to a man known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 8th, 2019, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 8th, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged during an argument with his ex-girlfriend on March 8th, 2019, police were contacted and located the two individuals together, despite the man’s conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Marc Dumond, 54, of Cornwall was arrested on March 10th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged in April 2018 the man failed to meet with his bail supervisor as per his conditions and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On March 10th, 2019, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on April 23rd, 2019.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR PRINTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Nicholas McCarthy, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on March 9th, 2019 and charged with failing to attend for prints and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man failed to attend for prints on February 21st, 2019 and an investigation ensued. On March 9th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 14th, 2019.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 10th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an argument, the man assaulted his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jamin Crowder, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on March 10th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court for fraud charges on January 16th, 2019 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 10th, 2019, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
