CFN Weather Alert – SNOW FRIDAY Freezing Rain Saturday DEC 22, 2017

Cornwall Ontario – The cold continues Friday with early morning temps feeling like -20c before the precipitation starts later in the day.

Up to 10cm of snow will fall through Friday into Saturday morning before temperatures warm up leading to freezing rain and ice pellets.   Saturday will be a good day to read a book by the fire or help grow the population.


Things will clear up Sunday and expect a nice crisp and clear Christmas for Santa with seasonal temps between -5 to -10c into Monday!

  • Maxville – Alexandria
  • Morrisburg – Long Sault
  • Winchester – Newington

Freezing rain possible Saturday morning.

5 to 10 cm is expected before the snow begins to taper off this evening. The snow will become mixed with freezing rain and ice pellets early Saturday morning and then change back to all snow late Saturday morning or early Saturday afternoon. Further snow and ice pellet amounts of 2 to 4 cm are possible on Saturday.

Motorists should be prepared for poor winter travelling conditions today, tonight and Saturday.
