#OPP Charge Smiths Falls Woman OLIVIA MAKARENKO +.8 & Driving into Swamp 042418

(LEEDS, ON.) –   Officers of the Leeds County Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing investigations into incidents involving impaired drivers.

On April 21, 2018 at about 1:20 A.M O.P.P officers were called to a collision in Rideau Lakes Township. A driver failed to stop at a stop sign on County Road 5, crossed Highway 15 and drove into a swamp. 25 year old Olivia MAKARENKO of Smiths Falls was charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with More Than 80 Mgs of Alcohol in her Blood. She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville on May 11, 2018 to answer to her charges.


On April 21, 2018 at about 4:20 P.M, a second arrest was made in Elizabethtown – Kitley Township. 52 year old Kevin HUTTON of the same township was arrested after a traffic incident on County Road 2.  He faces charges of Impaired Driving and Driving with More Than 80 Mgs of Alcohol in his Blood. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville on May 11, 2018.

Both drivers found their vehicles towed and impounded.
