SD&G #OPP Round Up for Friday August 17, 2018

SD&G OPP NEWS

 

(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 306 calls for service from Monday August 13, 2018 to Friday August 17, 2018.

 

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             18 Motor Vehicle collision

–             49 calls for Police assistance

–             17 – 911 calls

–             30 traffic complaints

–             9 Traffic enforcement occurrence’s

–             3 Domestic disputes

–             1 Assault calls

–             3 Mischief calls

–             6 suspicious activity calls

–             8 theft calls

–             7 alarm calls

–             2 Liquor licence Act calls

–             1 uttering threats calls

–             1 Drug offences

–            5 Animal complaints

–             1 Fraud occurrence’s

–             2 Harassment occurrence’s

–            5 Family Dispute’s

 

DRUG RELATED CHARGE

(South Dundas, ON) – On August 16, 2018, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit (K9) conducted a Search Warrant on Prospect Road in South Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated that a male was in contravention of a Firearms Prohibition Order, in Possession of Stolen Property and found to be in possession of an illegal drug.

Bobby Donald RICHARDSON (37), South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

–             Possession firearm while prohibited (2 counts)

–             Possession of a Controlled Drug Substance

–             Possession property obtained by crime – under $5000

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg court on October 9, 2018.

 

 

ASSAULT

 

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON) – On August 14, 2018 at approximately 2:33pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a disturbance in North Dundas Township.

 

Investigation indicated that an altercation occurred between a male and 2 other adult males. The accused male struck the victim’s several times.

 

A 58-year-old male of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

–            Assault (2 counts)

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg court on September 4, 2018.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

 

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) – On August 15, 2018 at approximately 2:35am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers attended a motor vehicle collision. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.




Olivier MINEAU (29) of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court September 13, 2018.

 

 

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

 

(SD&G) – On August 15-16, 2018 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and the driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

 

– August 15, 2018 – 2:21am (North Dundas); vehicle stopped traveling 140km/h (80km/h zone) (County Road 43). Male driver (32) from North Dundas Township, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– August 15, 2018 – 12:47pm (South Stormont); vehicle stopped traveling 155km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Female driver (29) from Clarington, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– August 16, 2018 – 1:39am (South Dundas); vehicle stopped traveling 161km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Male driver (26) from Bronx, NY, USA was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
