Cornwall Ontario – US media are reporting three men were sentenced for running Marijuana through Akwesasne.
One man was Canadian, from Elgin Quebec, near the Trout River border crossing. He received 135 months in prison on a plea deal. It was alleged that thousands of pounds of Cannabis was run through during the time in question.
It was admitted that hundreds of pounds via hockey bags were smuggled via Snye which is part of the Akwesasne that lies in Quebec.
DEA, Homeland Security, USBP, Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations, NY State Police, St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Department, AMPS, all worked on the convictions.
