Statements

4:40 AM EDT Saturday 27 October 2018
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Cornwall – Lancaster
  • Maxville – Alexandria
  • Morrisburg – Long Sault
  • Winchester – Newington

An early taste of winter.

The first accumulating snowfall event of the season is expected tonight into Sunday morning.

A low pressure system tracking just south of the Great Lakes will come close enough to Eastern and Central Ontario to bring measurable snow to the region tonight into Sunday. Most areas will receive 2 to 5 cm of snow, with amounts of 5 to 10 cm possible over higher ground in a few localities.

The precipitation will ease off slowly Sunday as the low pressure area moves away.

Motorists should be prepared for the first winter driving conditions of the season. Untreated roads may become covered in snow and slush, and become slippery as a result.

Very true. Could be why so many clicked on the story…..

  3. Oh my I was about to turn my clocks back until I saw Huggers post. OMG! LOL LOL. Jamie I don’t think that you are old enough to be as confused as I am. Everyone in my household has a good laugh at me at times.

  4. I knew that the weather was changing since my arthritis is acting up terribly. The dentist that we go to had his miniature poodle clipped – way too early. I told him to get out some knitting needles and knit little coats and booties for his dog. I had everyone laughing. The dog in that picture looks like a pillow was wrapped around him. BRRRRRRRRR!
