#OPP Investigating SUSPICIOUS Package at Prescott Post Office 011019 – Not a Pellet Gun! WILL UPDATE

  (Prescott, ON) On January 10, 2019, at approximately 12:30 P.M., the Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the Prescott Post Office, on Center Street, after the discovery of a suspicious package.

Currently, the Post Office and the immediate area, including roads and sidewalks are closed to civilian traffic. The public is advised to avoid this area at this time.

Members of the Grenville County OPP, the Prescott Fire department, the Leeds and Grenville Paramedic Service and the OPP’s Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Team are at location.

The investigation is currently in progress.

Update 1 – Suspicious Package at Prescott Post Office

(Prescott, ON)  , The suspicious package located at the Prescott Post Office has been confirmed not suspicious. The package was carrying Casting Powder, which is not a danger to the public.

The Post Office and area roads and streets have resumed full operation.
