SD&G #OPP Round Up for Week Of Jan 24, 2019. 133 Vehicle Collisions Reported!

SD&G OPP NEWS

(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 370 calls for service from Friday January 18, 2019 to Thursday January 24, 2018.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             133 Motor Vehicle collision

–             33 calls for Police assistance

–             11- 911 calls

–             20 traffic complaints

–             13 traffic hazards

–             4 Traffic enforcement occurrence’s

–             4 Domestic disputes

–             8 thefts

–             1 Mischief call

–             3 suspicious activity call

–             1 sexual assault call      

–             5 family disputes

–             4 warrant call

–             5 fraud complaint

–               2 assault calls

–             5 break and enter calls

–             3 mental health calls

PROPERTY RECOVERED

TWO MALES ARRESTED

(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) On January 18, 2019, members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and SD&G OPP officers arrested two males in connection to stolen property from Ottawa, Ontario at a property on Weegar Road, South Dundas Township. This resulted in the seizure of a Mini Dump truck, a Kubota mini excavator and a trailer.

Donald HELDER (48) of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 ( 4 counts)

William NASH (34) of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

— Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 ( 3 counts)

– Fail to comply with probation order

Both males were held in custody (bail) and scheduled to appear in Ontario court of justice in Cornwall.

CHARGES LAID RELATING TO THEFTS

(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On January 20, 2019, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a theft at a business on County Road 31 in South Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated that an employee of the store removed various items on multiple occasions.

Brittney WINTERS (32) from South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

–             Theft Under $5000 ( 4 counts)

She was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 5, 2019 in Morrisburg.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS – DOMESTIC

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) – On January 22, 2019 at approximately 1:43pm, SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officers and Community Street Crime Unit officers responded to a report of male breaching his previous release conditions. Officers confirmed the male was in contravention of his previous release conditions in South Dundas Township.

A-25- year-old male of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with conditions of an Undertaking (3 counts)

– fail to comply with conditions of probation order ( 2 counts)

He was release and is scheduled to a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall February 19th 2019.

MALE ARRESTED RELATING TO BREAK INS

(NORTH GLENGARRY,ON) On January 17, 2019, members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and SD&G OPP officers arrested a male in connection with two break in’s in North Glengarry Township. This resulted in the seizure of property from the break in’s.

Eric SEGUIN (28) of North Glengarry Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Possession of property obtained by under over $5000

– Fail To comply with conditions of a probation order ( 4 counts)

– Break and Enter ( 2 counts)

– Possession of break in instruments

– Possession of a controlled substance

He was held in custody (bail) and scheduled to appear in Ontario court of justice in Cornwall.
