Cornwall ON – Veteran Canadian actor Maury Chaykin has passed away at the age of 61 due to Kidney issues.  Mr. Chaykin had actually been born in Brooklyn NY, but made his home and fame from Toronto where one of his earliest roles was on the King of Kensington CBC series with Al Waxman.

Although Dances With Wolves was one of his most famous roles Mr. Chaykin played many and diverse roles in film, television, and stage.

He’s survived by his wife Susannah Hoffmann, and daughter, Rose.

Cornwall ON - Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe turned 21 today.    With two movies left in the series the world has watched young Mr. Radcliffe grow up along with the rest of the cast of the series.

Cornwall ON - It’s amazing what you find when you buy up old storage lockers.  For Howard Mann that included 273 Jackson 5 music tracks.   It’ll be interesting to see how this impacts the Michael Jackson estate issues in play?

He has the masters to 273 unreleased Jackson tracks. Some are Michael alone, some are duets with superstars like Tina Turner, and some are with the Jackson family.

A good chunk of them come from the 1975 CBS variety series featuring the whole family.

Sounds like someone’s going to be getting an awfully big paycheque out of this!

Cornwall ON - Happy Birthday Meryl Streep you hot piece o chicken!   Ms Streep turns much less than 100 today.   The great actress seems to get an Oscar nom every year, and only gets better with age as opposed to say….many of her co-stars over the years.

Cornwall ON –  Johnny Depp turned 47 today.   The actor who has been in some of the most eclectic films in history has had a long career now in film, music, and television.

Depp rose to prominence in a lead role on the television series 21 Jump Street and quickly became regarded as a teen idol. Uncomfortable with that characterization, he turned his focus to film roles that he felt were right. Cornwall ON - Man this must’ve been one weird and wooly wedding.   Take one aging Ultra Rich Right Wing Demogouge, a pretty young thing, and have Elton John take a big cheque to sing wedding music.

They say 4 times lucky; well at least the legal firms do and face it if you getting married for the 4th time you’re probably getting Air Miles from your lawyer what with Pre-Nups, Post Nups, and Up da Butts.

Cornwall ON - I love Shrek.  Ginger and Puss are my fave’s and I think that what’s her name…Cameron Diaz has done her best acting and never looked better than in the Shrek Series.    When I saw the commercials for the glasses; after first wondering if they glasses were really made of glass or plastic I wanted one but sadly over 12 Million of them have been recalled due to Cadmium, which I’m sure is not good for you, was discovered in the paint.

Sad.  Hopefully Mickey D’s will resolve the issue and get you souvenir lovin’ consumers some replacements soon!

In the meanwhile you can see the new Shrek flick in a theatre near you and hopefully you  won’t have to pay $20 per ticket like in some big cities!
