Restaurant Review – Cornwall’s Ye Old English Fish ‘n Chip Shop

This is the first of our secret Restaurant reviews.   If you have a restaurant you want to see reviewed email us at info@cornwallfreenews.com and we’ll see if we can fit them in.

Ray and Clara Henstock’s Ye Old English Fish ‘n Chip Shop may not be big, but the value and quality is.

If you have a hankering for Fish n chips and other English foods like Steak and Kidney pie , or Pickled Onions, this cosy hideaway is the place for you.

A throwback to the old style hole in the wall right next to a shopping mall,  this little hidden gem at 9 First Street serves up amazing fries and food.  They have daily specials too.

We had the Halibut and Chips.   The service was good too.  Our only possible complaint was the cole slaw was a bit too runny and I love good slaw.

You can even have take out wrapped in Newsaper just like in England.

So if you’re hankering for a taste of Blighty pick up a snack on your way home to watch Coronation Street.

Ye Old English Fish ‘N Chip Shop gets 3.5 out of 5 Red Hats over all.
