NHL PLAY OFF ROUND UP

B O X S C O R E S

2  Goals from Dan Boyle and 1 from Rob Blake weren’t enough to overcome Joe Thornton’s curse; at least for 1 game as the Sharks ate some Duck and keep their hopes alive with a 4-3 win.

Vancouver completed their sweep of the St. Louis Blues and head to the next round of the play offs with their 3-2 OT win.  They did it without Mats Sundin also.   Kudo’s to the Canucks!

Carolina tied up their series with NJ with 4-3  last second goal that had Marty Brodeur flinging his stick.   It was an ugly way to lose and he had every right to be upset as the refs let Carolina bump him far too often without making any calls.

Pittsburgh 3-1 win last night gave them a 3-1 edge in their series with Philly which they can close Thursday in Pittsburgh.

And finally, Detroit and Goalie Chris Osgood rolled to another lopsided victory beating Columbus in their first home Play Off game 4-1 as they take a commanding 3 games to 0 lead in the series.
