Harper Government Bloodlusts for Majority as Insiders Sell Shares at Unprecedented Rate

The world has filled the economy’s coffers in an unprecedented manner to help fight the recession/Depression and now that much of those dollars have been spent insiders, that is people on the inside of many of the corporations that benefited most from those cash infusions into the economy are selling their shares in these corporations.  L I N K

“While a wave of insider selling doesn’t necessarily foretell a stock market downturn, it suggests that those with the first read on business trends don’t believe current stock prices are justified by economic fundamentals.”

With that as a back drop our Prime Minister is out on the warpath slavering for a majority government.  While he’s doing everything to force the opposition to call an election, which the Liberals have finally announced as their intention, his ministers are fear mongering, his older attack ads have been unleashed, and he’s using our tax dollars to advertise his Economic Action plan on TV which is nothing more than propaganda.

Here are two stories of Mr. Harper pandering for a majority.

L I N K

“On Aug. 20, the Globe and Mail reported that Harper was gearing to shift strategies and would ask Canadians to give him a majority to ensure stability in trying economic times. Final proof came this week when the CBC aired excepts from a video shot by a student who’d given it to the Liberal Party, who passed it on to the CBC.

It showed the prime minister giving a speech to party members in Sault Ste-Marie. The speech was closed to the media – something politicians should know no longer exists in an age where anything can be taped or filmed with the smallest of devices.”

L I N K Here’s another story.

“If the Liberals return to power with the support of “the socialists and separatists,” said Harper, “Imagine how many left-wing ideologues they would be putting in the courts, federal institutions, agencies, the Senate. I should say, how many more they would be putting in.”

Harper also suggested a Liberal government would also create a “bloated bureaucracy” to run a national daycare program, introduce a “carbon tax” and raise other taxes, pursue “soft on crime” policies, and provide support for “left-wing fringe groups” to mount court challenges.”

He forgot to mention that the Libs would probably force all Canadians to get Athlete’s Foot.    It boggles the mind that so many people fall for scare tactics like this.

Reality check.   Liberals in Power = Surplus – Conservatives in Power = Deficit

  1. This video is no blockbuster.

The truth is, Canadians that I talk to, be them left or right minded, do not want another election. The undecided seem to tend to drift toward the Conservatives as they prefer some level of continuity. I voted Liberal in the last election, however Dion, the coalition fiasco coupled with the insertion of Ignatieff left a sour taste in my mouth and I too am definitely voting Conservative. When the grits find a truly charismatic, tough and decisive leader, perhaps then I will change my vote back.

Chere if Mr Ignatieff were any tougher he’d be a Conservative 😉 If all he wanted to do was be PM he’d already be PM by choosing to go the coalition route. It took guts to back down the voices that wanted Mr. Harper out. I’m all for tough, but sometimes you have to do what’s right for the country even if it’s at your own expense.

When Stephen Harper called the last election the only reason was to try and grab a majority. He’s failed miserably and now that the economy is hurting and deficits soaring instead of working with other parties he’s giving them just cause to call an election. All that while spending record amounts of money trying to still buy a majority win.

I respect your opinion and I’ll respect your vote as a democratic Canadian, but look at all the facts before you check mark who you vote for in the next election.
