Kessel A Leaf – Habs Win Again – Gionta Scores 1st –

phil Either Brian Burke is Goofy or Nostradamus.    Only time will tell.   The trade was pulled and the Leaf Nation will have much to talk about whether it’s the 2 First round Picks and a 2nd or the $5.4 contract that the 22 year old will cash in on.

He’s not terrible big, he’s had cancer; just had rotator cuff surgery and will be out until November, and the Bruins didn’t want to make cap space to keep him.    This trade will be Brian Burke’s legacy with the Leafs.    Personally it’s so bad I don’t think Bob Gainey would even make it. 😉

In other NHL News,  Les Habitants won again.   New investment Brian Gionta scored his first goal in the 2-1 victory over Ottawa.  New Sen Milan Michalek scored the lone Ottawa goal.

Nashville doubled Carolina 4-2, TB 2-1 over Atlanta, The Wings clipped the Rangers 4-3, Toronto 4-3 over Pittsburgh,  The Blues snowed the Avalanche 6-2, Minnesota shut out Columbus 2-0,  Pat Quinn’s Oilers shut out Florida 4-0, Anaheim beat a Gretzkyless Phoenix 4-3, and finally it was Sedin Night in SJ as the Canucks walloped the Sharks 6-2 with no goals for cry baby Dany Heatley.
