Habs Come back from 3-0 DEFICIT – Cook Ducks in Shoot Out – Oilers Shut out New Jersey Devils 2-0 – NHL SCORES – Monday March 8, 2010

Good gosh does Tomas Plekanec not only want to stay with the Montreal Canadiens but be their Captain?   Last night TP (you know, TP because he wipes the opposition) wiped the Anaheim Ducks as he led their comeback from a 3-0 Carey Priceless first period performance.

I can’t think how much clearer it can be that this team; like last year’s, performs much better with Mr. Halak in goal.   I’m not sure what the issue is with Carey Price, but if the Habs have any hopes for the play offs it should be clear that Jaroslav Halak is their man.  He relieved Price after the first and was perfect not letting in a goal and allowing Montreal to claw back and eventually win the game in the shoot out.

What’s really positive right now is that Montreal’s star players are leading the way.  The big guns are earning their salaries and this morning Hab fans wake up in 7th place.

In a game I’m sure not too many of you chose for your Sports Line; Edmonton shut out the New Jersey Devils 2-0!    The Leafs lost to Philly 3-1, Jarome Iginla’s hat trick led Calgary to a 5-2 win over Minnesota, both goals were scored by former Hab Guillaume Latendresse.

Vancouver doubled Nashville 4-2.
