Buy A Green Food Box… Get a Free Organic Produce Bag
Cornwall ON – The Cornwall Green Food Box and Steward Bags are working together to encourage people to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
Customers who buy a Green Food Box in April will get a free reusable produce bag from Steward Bags. “We want to thank our Green Food Box clients for their support. Steward Bags are the perfect fit because they were developed by a local company and will hopefully serve a reminder to clients to place their monthly Green Food Box order,” explains Lynne Giroux, a dietitian at the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.
The Steward Bags were purchased with funds from the Healthy Rhythm Coalition. The funds were also used to purchase 50 more boxes in order to help expand the Cornwall Green Food Box program.
The Cornwall Green Food Box is a non-profit community-based program which gives all residents a chance to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at wholesale prices. Our produce is bought in bulk from trustworthy suppliers, which means you’ll save money! When it’s possible, we try to purchase all of our fruits and vegetables locally. Each box contains a variety of fruits and vegetables and is enough for a small family. Simply order and pay for your boxes no later than the first week of each month. Then, pick up your boxes on the third Wednesday of every month.
