Philadelphia Hangs on Thanks to Simon Gagne’s Return and Game Winning Goal in OT – Hawks Chew on Canucks 7-4 to take 3-1 lead in series – Cornwall Ontario – May 8, 2010

Cornwall On – Philadelphia held on and avoided a sweep by beating the Boston Bruins 5-4 in Overtime last night.  Simon Gagne scored the winner in OT after returning from injury and led the Flyers with 7 shots.

Mark Recchi, that aging tiger scored two goals as Boston tried to finish off the Flyers.

The Chicago Black Hawks pummeled the Vancouver Canucks to take a 3-1 lead in their series with their 7-4 victory.

It was all Chicago in the Second period after a close first.   Vancouver simply could not come back in the third.  Jonathan Toews, a man on a mission, led the way with a 5 point night for Chicago.

Tonight Montreal is back in Pittsburgh, and Detroit continues its search for life and Lord Stanley’s Cup in San Jose.

What do you think Canada?  Who will make it through to the third round of the play offs?
