Habs Win 5-2 vs Pittsburgh! Come back and Take Series in Best of Seven! – Cornwall Ontario – May 12, 2010

Cornwall ON – Montreal jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in their best of seven final in Pittsburgh in the first period.    Brian Gionta tipped in a PK Subban shot to open the scoring followed by a Domenic Moore goal while   Maxim Lapierre was getting mauled behind the Pittsburgh net.

Period two is all Montreal so far with my favorite Hab Mike Cammallieri scoring and Travis Moen adding a short handed goal.   Marc Andre Fleury has just been removed from the Pittsburgh net.

Montreal 5, Pittsburgh 2 is the final score!   It was truly amazing hockey watching the third period roll out as les Boys took everything the frustrated Penguins could throw at them.  Pittsburgh took two too many men on the ice penalties.

Bottom line.  Sidney Crosby had over 11 minutes of PP time in game 7 and had 0 points.

Hal Gill is playing for Montreal.   His grit and courage was a tribute to what it’s like to be a champion hockey player. His injury obviously impacting his play as he took a few penalties in the game.

It was great to see former GM Bob Gainey.  This is his team.   The character guys he signed in the off season are making him look mighty good right now as the Habs get ready for round three instead of par three!

Over 20,000 Montreal Canadiens fans packied the Bell Centre watching the game on the big screen.
