Cornwall ON – Remember the Sixties?  No, most of you reading this are most likely are way too young.  It was something your Grand Parents lived through!

On May 22 people will be protesting across Canada and the world for The Harper Government’s decision to extradite Marc Emery, a Canadian Citizen and Businessman as well as Political activist.

  8. I am 100% against Marc Emery’s extradition, but I don’t know if I really agree with the tone in the above video. The protest seemed a bit hostile. Public perception plays a large role in the loosening of marijuana laws. This might be more successful if they had focused more on education and less on making a scene.

    Major kudos to the protesters anyway.

  9. Marc Emery would smile at that. What a terrific sensible move and occupation it was for that proper group to behave as they did. Thank God the future can lead itself. Rolling marijuana on the desk of your Member of Parliament is clearly upheld by the Canadian Supreme Court. The ruling is by Mdm. Justice Claire L’Heureux-Dube. It is correctly upheld that the court house (not including the judges chambers) MP’s office, airport, train station or anywhere else that the public may normally pass is a public place. Thus one may demonstrate,speak, protest, hand out leaflets without prior approval, taxation or license. Roll one up if you love The Crown more than you love the gang of four. Use your bare hands and the alphabet. The door is open. We saw the proof. You know what they say, “A proof is a proof when you have the proof and that is the proof.”

  10. Scientific evidence! Just by watching this video proves it all – National Inst. for Drug abuse writes about these pot heads (dope heads) –

    There is more – “Effects on Daily Life Research clearly demonstrates that marijuana has the potential to cause problems in daily life or make a person’s existing problems worse. In one study, heavy marijuana abusers reported that the drug impaired several important measures of life achievement including physical and mental health, cognitive abilities, social life, and career status.11 Several studies associate workers’ marijuana smoking with increased absences, tardiness, accidents, workers’ compensation claims, and job turnover”.     Of course these dope heads gave us their campaign speech about the medical use of pot – right, they are really concern. I can see that all over their glassy – stone look faces! You have to be a real dope head to legalize pot for any reason!

    And urm, Alcohol drank every day? There are many substances when abused that cause harmful effects. If this is the reason to condemn them please don’t stop with Marijuana. Include Alcohol, cigarettes, high fructose corn syrup, food ingredients that look like latin and Little Mosque on the Prairie.

    No, this argument simply shows why Marijuana needs to be legalized, controlled, and taxed.

  13. The Conservatives are hiding. They are hunted. Funny feeling isn’t it? Feel marginalized, criminalized and stigmatized? Now they prorogue their offices. They can hide from our native brothers and sisters too. They can hide but they thank goodness for automatic deposit.
    The Crown is absolute that this marijuana protest must take place to prevent Bill S-10. It is legally binding to smoke pot in your MP’s office. It is the law.
    I remember when Pierre Trudeau was being confronted by a nation of incredibly angry truck drivers. They had gathered and struck and came to Pierres’ front door to express their feelings. Unprotected by security the Prime Minister walked into a thick angry crowd, pushed his way up to a rolled down window, gave the trucker the finger and told him ‘fuddle duddle.’ Now regardless of what you thought about the policy regarding the truckers there was something there to admire. It was felt we had a Prime Minster who could stand up in broad day light to his critics on the front lawn and so clearly he could stand up to world leaders on behalf of Canada when it counted. History shows that was indeed the case as he told Nixon ‘fuddle duddle’ as well, when it came to discussion of Canadas’ arctic.
    The next time Harper and his pals go to the G-20 beach blanket bingo they’ll be talking to big boys who know they can’t even yell at their own people to get off the front lawn. Sacrificing our troops to keep the value of marijuana and opium artificially high is wrong. Prohibition never should have been passed.
    If you are making deals with the Harper Valley PTA then you need to anticipate that everything this cabal did will fall under a festival of amazing and vast scrutiny bridging a variety of Senate Commissions. The five million Canadians who will overnight finally be accepted and no longer underground plus their twenty five million neighbours, friends and parents will hold a magnifying glass to any deals with the Conservatives from this point past and forward. The Conservatives will only get 56 votes in the coming election. They are too ashamed to even vote for themselves. I hope the Speaker of The House is preparing a sincere, understanding and compendious apology to those who smoke marijuana. I expect Marc and his wife Jodie Emery and the nation to be formally apologized to for this multi-generational outrage, incarcerations, punitive fines and humiliations.
    Weak. Harper is weak. Marc Emery is strong. Jacob Hunter – wow! Little women smoking pot on the front lawn are strong. Harper, Jaffer, Nicholson, Towes , the whole lot of them are pathetic, weak, helpless sad people who need hugs and to be pensioned off with no delay. They can go sell incense in airports and shave their heads like the other cults. Then the rest of us will solve the mess together as a nation less divided. And probably as history will one day point out, less deliberately divided.

  15. Well Tom Sin is in the eye of the beholder. There are things that you have typed that would condemn you in the eyes of some religions. The reason we have separation of church and state is so that no one religion can impose their beliefs on others.

    The laws of the land are what we’re speaking of now. I try and leave the rhetoric for others. The world can’t afford rhetoric. Do you have any substantial points to debate the thesis of the legalization of Marijuana?

    In church history, the Evangelical church (non – Roman catholic) has been blessed by God with seven evangelical awakenings since the Great Reformation of the 1500’s. In those awakenings, God has totally transformed society on a whole, inside out. Criminalization was not needed to remove the major social vices such as drunkenness, gambling, and prostitution that plagued society. Men and women were so changed for the good, that they lost the tasted for alcohol, they became good stewards of their money, and they honoured marriage. Being now true born again Christians, such committed their lives to live a clean, up right moral life. In my library, I have many books that cover these awakenings, and I see such a work is needed again.

    Forgive me for a little history lesson, but it is needed. According to the Bible, God is not dealing with Israel as a nation now. In the times of the Monarchy, the kings and judges used the revealed written Scriptures as guide lines for which laws to enforce. Israel was not left to herself to decided what was right and wrong, for God revealed it to be so to them personally – example the 10 Commandments. It was Israel’s responsibility to live in a covenant relationship with the God of Heaven. Israel failed to obey God, especially when Her Messiah came to her – the Lord Jesus Christ. Israel ended up crucifying her Messiah.

    In the program of God, God is now dealing with all nations – the Gentile nations. There is no longer a monarch on the earth as in one particular nation (not even the U.S.A.). The “Church” is ruled by Her King – the Lord Jesus Christ via the Holy Spirit and with the Inspired Word of God. In Romans 13, the Apostle Paul writes of the rule of the Gentile nations. The law of the land, as in Canada, is to be obeyed. The rule of law, as in Canadian’s history, has been influence by the Christian/Judah ethic for years.

    We can look at the Old Testament laws, as a foundation to build on, concerning almost anything, for example drunkenness. What was the law that elders (law enforcers) would enact for a rebellious, drunken son? Deu 21:18 -21 says this:

    “If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear”.

    Hard you might think! But Israel was commanded to obey. There was fairness, justice, and mercy under the Old Testament economy in Israel. All this was included in following God’s laws, for God is love, as well as righteous. If injustice ruled, it was because Israel refused to obey. They knew better, but they rejected the Word of God. This was how Israel was to live under God’s watch eye and authority. Israel was to reflect the nature of God – God is righteous!

    Law makers can look at such laws, since it is from the inspired Word of God and therefore it has authority, today and can legislate righteous laws for the good of all society. The rule of law has to be based upon something besides personal opinion, or personal likes and dislikes, or private interpretations of the Scriptures. For example, Capital punishment is clearly taught in the Old Testament. Under the New Testament economy, each individual nation is allowed to determine for itself whether to have laws that enforce capital punishment. The rule of law use to be that premeditated murder was punishable by death. Canada has on a whole rejected capital punishment. Does that mean Canada is a more law abiding nation? The record shows that our justice system is in deep trouble. Why? We have forsaken the only reliable, trustworthy rule of law – the Word of God and we have also failed to enforce it.

    So Jamie, if I were elected to an office, I would use the Word of God as my rule of law. You say that will never happen – that’s right! But in times of religious awakenings, such did happen. Back then religious and political leaders led by living a moral, holy life. And they told the truth. They feared God and kept His commandments. As society turns from fearing God and keeping His commandments, we have a revival in lawlessness [like the legalization of pot]. Any reliable history book will tell us that once lawlessness sets in, overall, good bye to that nation. Not just self destruction, but divine retribution is the cause of the death of a nation. Unless, God is pleased to send an evangelical awakening!

    One more item, when King Jesus comes back to set up His Kingdom, He will rule supremely in justice and equality. What God has revealed in His word, all will the Lord Jesus do, as He rules and reigns upon King David’s throne in Jerusalem. This is to come; it is called the millennial reign of Christ. The book of Revelation is a prophetic word of how the King takes back the earth by force. This is yet to come, and it will come!

  21. Pastor Tom don’t waste your time arguing with stoners, they have an excuse for everything. Wait until their children start smoking pot in the schools. We know that children younger than 10 are smoking now and when they switch to pot just watch their grades go up in smoke. Soon those who are not stoned will be ostracized by the stoners.

  22. Tom, surely even religious scholars such as yourself understand that everything that you just spouted is only relevant if the person you are debating is of the same belief system.

    The world is made up of many belief systems. You are entitled to what you believe and personally I’m glad for anyone that has a belief system rather than none, but when it comes to the laws of the land there’s a certain way of discussing an issue.

    For instance our Prime Minister’s beliefs probably lie closer to yours than my own, but if he stood up in Question period and tried to debate a point in the manner that you have what do you think the reaction to that would be?

    My time is very short and special which is why I rarely will publicly debate. If you ever wish to debate a point here, with me, I’d suggest you do so in a manner which is germane to the debate. Your belief system may dictate how you lead your life and again, that’s wonderful, but when it comes to deciding traffic laws, or the laws of the land, or important issues then there has to be a common “language” or conditions to deal with any issue. If you’re in your own realm and wish to discuss something under the canon of your religion that’s entirely a different paradigm.

    We offer a “soapbox” if you may, to many people of many different political, sociological, and religious beliefs; most of which aren’t my own personally. I just try to keep them near civil and interesting for our viewers, but the neat thing about soap boxes is that it’s great to have your say some may actually challenge you and if you can’t defend your position I find that you hurt your position.

  24. Tom you actually didn’t answer my question. You shared a lot of information which I tuned out of fairly quickly after skimming. It was a very simply question I asked you, most likely a simple yes or no would’ve sufficed.

  25. Trying to have a debate or discussion with the pastor is an exercise of futility. He has all the answers, and all those answers come from ONE book. There is no thinking involved in his “arguments”… just regurgitation of passages from that book. I think that one of the great attractions of these religions or cults is that no thought is required… sort of like letting drugs taking care of all your problems. Quite sad, really.

  28. I see that MP Patrick Browns office in Barrie just had a marijuana rolling contest. So far that’s MPs Andrew Saxton, James Moore, Peter Kent, Colin Carrie and Patrick Brown. All these MP’s have learned the proper way to roll a joint. I hear the Young Conservatives for Sane Marijuana Laws are renting a huge bus because they have lots of dad’s money.

  29. well over 75% want it legalized or decriminalized. Same with 88% of the country wants the Auditor General to be able to audit parliament. But, our governments have other plans, they no longer listen to the people that put them in power!
