Poverty Activist Gary Samler Succumbs while on Homeless Exercise in Cornwall Ontario – May 21, 2010

Cornwall ON – Reggie Walker was not up to the rigours of living on the streets of Cornwall Ontario.    He arrived Monday with the goal of walking the streets for 120 hours and sharing what it was to be homeless.

Short of the 100 hour mark Mr. Walker entered a local hospital and ended up having to stay.  He’s now safely home after being treated for blisters and other ailments.

Reggie Walker is the alias of Mr. Gary Samler who is a political activist for poverty issues here in Cornwall and is running for City Council.  We’ve been covering his Social Exercise to raise Poverty awareness and will be interviewing him once he’s up to it.

  1. Was video only recorded of Mr. Gary Samler’s first hours of this experiment? I would be interested to hear his comments on the days following before his hospitalization.
