Chicago Takes Game One in 6-5 Shootout Over Flyers – Stanley Cup Finals – Cornwall Ontario – May 30, 2010

Cornwall ON – You don’t see a lot of high scoring play off games, but the revved up crowd in Chicago had no shortage of goals in game one.

Chicago came out on top 6-5 in regulation time on Tomas Kopecky’s winner in the third period and Michael Leighton, slayer of the Habs with three shut outs was replaced by Brian Boucher.

It was a fast and physical game with refs putting away the whistles for the most part.   Shots were 32 a piece, but Dave Bolland was a difference maker for Chicago scoring a short handed goal and assist while Troy Brouwer had two goals.

Chris Pronger was on the ice over 32 minutes for the Flyers.  Chicago’s line of Captain Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and Dustin Byfuglien were all -3 for the night.

Philadelphia just couldn’t deal the depth of this Chicago team.   What do you think Canada?  Can Philadelphia come back?
