Here’s your police blotter for Thursday June 17, 2010 in Cornwall Ontario.

FAIL TO ATTEND COURT

Amanda Hazel Wilkinson, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on the 16th of June, 2010 for failing to attend court on the previous day.  It is alleged that she was scheduled for court on the 15th of June and failed to do so.  A bench warrant for her arrest was requested and she turned herself into police.  She was held for court to answer to the charge.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

A 64 year old Cornwall female was arrested on the 16th of June, 2010 following a domestic disturbance.  It is alleged that she had an argument with her 57 year-old spouse at which time she struck him in the face.  He did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  She was arrested for Assault and released to appear in court on the 03rd of August, 2010.  Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

WARRANT

Charles Angus Cook, 38, of Hogansburg NY was arrested on the 16th of June, 2010 while entering Canada through the point of entry.  He was detained by a member of Canada Border Services Agency on the strength of three outstanding warrants.  Police allege that the warrants were for failing to comply with his Probation Order conditions, failing to appear for fingerprints and for failing to attend court.   The Cornwall Community Police Service attended and arrested the male on the warrants.  He was held in custody until court the following day.

BREAK AND ENTER

Christopher Garrison, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on the 16th of June, 2010 for 3 counts of Break and Enter.

It is alleged that he broke into 3 separate rooms within a Cornwall residence between the 02nd of June and the time of his arrest.  He was released to appear in court on the 29th of July, 2010 to answer to the charges.

BREACHES

Yvon Edmound Lavergne, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on the 16th of June, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol absolutely and also a Prohibition Order for Life with the same condition.  It is alleged that he was under the influence of alcohol when police attended his residence on an unrelated matter.  He was arrested for 1 count of Breach of Recognizance and 1 count of Breach of Prohibition.  He was held in custody until court on the 17th of June, 2010 to answer to the charges.

BREAK AND ENTER

The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred sometime between 12:00 and 09:00 pm on the 16th of June, 2010 at an Elgin Street residence.  Suspect(s) gained access into the residence by a basement screened window.  The suspect(s) stole a black and blue Toshiba laptop.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

BREAK AND ENTER
