Child Drowning in Williamstown Ontario – OPP Remind Parents & Guardians to Safe Guard Children Around Water – July 4, 2010

Williamstown, ON – On July 3, 2010 at approximately 4:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a small child located in a family pool in Williamstown, South Glengarry Township.

The 2-year-old male child was transported to the Cornwall Community Regional Hospital and was airlifted to the Ottawa Children’s Hospital ( Cheo) where he later died.

The OPP SD&G Crime Unit, under the Regional Coroner’s office are investigating. No foul play is suspected.

The OPP would remind parents and guardians to safe quard their children around open bodies of water.

  1. well i wish my best to the macdonells, Finen’s dad was my teacher mr.mc and hes was great and i cant beleive something this unfortunate had to happen he talked about his litttles boys everyday of the schoool year and he asked us all if he should get a pool. I cant beleive i wasnt there to actually meet his son’s and daughter on our last day of schooool, my best wishs and prayers go out to the macdonells, i hope u all get better soooon .
