Could Roger Waters and David Gilmour Reunite for Pink Floyd The Wall’s 30th Anniversary? Cornwall Ontario – July 15, 2010

Cornwall ON – Could legendary ban Pink Floyd’s two main men be reuniting for the 30th anniversary of The Wall?

Roger Waters and David Gilmour buried the hatchet to perform at a charity concert recently.

Gilmour and Waters were originally planning to play three songs. But one attendee, British financier Arpad Busson, was so taken with the performance, he donated £50,000 to get them to play “Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2.” “Some other people were also saying they’d give £200,000 for them to play one more song,” Freud adds. “People were crying — really! I know it sounds corny, but it was magic.

In 1994 I had the luck to land tix to David Gilmour at the old Montreal Forum.   Mick Ralphs from bad company stood in for Roger.   Shortly thereafter Mr. Waters came to Montreal, to the same venue, to support his new solo album,  “The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking”  the second set was a shorter version of the wall and his guitarist that night was a chap by the name of Clapton.   Not bad, couldn’t sing worth much, but then neither can Mr. Waters.

It truly was one of the greatest concerts I ever personally was at.   It should be historic musically if these two can come together again.    It reminds me a bit of the movie Excalibur; at the end when Arthur and Lancelot fight together one last time.   Musically it should be amazing if these two can get it together.

  1. Omg I am going to see the Wall on September 16th at The ACC I would so love to see David there with Roger, and I think everyone else in the building would surely love to see that too..

  2. If they do, I am so there!!!! 😀

  3. Ohh my god!! If they reunite i think i will cry! I did not have the chance to see them because i’m too young but i’m going to the The Wall show in Montreal so i wish David will be there!

  4. Yeah I still have to get tickets. I went a few years ago to see Roger Waters in Montreal, and that was epic as it is. Would be nice to see them together again. Too bad Sid died.

  5. Well I’ll tell you. That story about the Bank of Montreal not taking large chunks of cash from Natives wasn’t carried by any paper in the country accept the Freeholder. The story should lead clever white men can deposit big cash in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver but clever red men may not. Nice to know that the Bank of Montreal has the ability to prejudge without trial or warrant. no one is covering this big story.

  6. Spanner, what does this have to do with Pink Floyd?

  7. If David & Roger get together again it will be electrifying! Its about time they realized that the music of Pink Floyd is at the highest echelon of classic rock. Internationally, there are more successful Pink Floyd cover bands than for any other group and they appeal to audiences of all age groups. This is their chance to cement there formidable legacy and retake the world stage.

  8. I saw Pink Floyd perform “The Wall” at the first performance at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, I believe it was the first showing ever of the wall, I now have a ticket to see Roger perform the wall again in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, it will be the first date for this concert in Los Angeles for this tour. I sure hope that’s the concert that David chooses to play at!!!!

  9. I saw Pink Floyd, David Gilmour and Roger Waters in total 8 times but never together between 1984 and 2010. My cousin saw them in 1977 in Montreal when Roger spat on a fan, the sound was awfull back then. I guess what matters is that they performed, all four of them, at Live 8 and that was really special. Richer Wright passed away and it will never be the same without him. What I would like for them to do (Roger and David and Nick (yeah I like Nick he seems so relax) would be one last album under Pink Floyd, no tour just one more album. The music industry is pretty much dead and they would really have a great influence on perhaps revitalizing it.
