Cornwall ON – Here’s your police blotter for Monday July 19, 2010 from Cornwall Ontario.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Wes Nichol, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on the 16th of July, 2010.  It is alleged that he failed to appear in court on the 24th of June and a bench warrant was requested.  He turned himself into police and was held for court later that day.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 39 year-old St-Andrews West female was arrested on the 16th of July, 2010 for a domestic related incident.  It is alleged that she struck her 41 year-old common-law spouse by slapping him across the face.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulting in the female facing a charge of Assault.  She was released to appear in court on the 24th of August, 2010 to answer to the charge.  Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Marc Robert Longpre, 48, of Brownsberg-Chatham, Quebec was arrested by Lancaster O.P.P. on the strength of a warrant on the 16th of July, 2010.  It is alleged that a warrant existed for a theft under charge stemming from an investigation from the 04th of June, 2010.  It is alleged that the male entered a Pawn Shop and stole a ring which had been placed on a counter.  An investigation was commenced and a warrant for his arrest was issued.  He was held in custody until court the following day.

BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Maxine McKay, 21, of Brockville was arrested on the 16th of July, 2010 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by a Probation Order with conditions to Abstain from the purchase, possession and consumption of any alcoholic beverage and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that she was located by police and paramedics under the influence of alcohol at a Montreal Road business.  She was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation and released to appear in court on the 14th of September, 2010.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, WEAPONS DANGEROUS, RESIST ARREST and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – A 29 year-old male from Cornwall was arrested on the 17th of July, 2010 for several offences.  He was bound by 2 Probation Orders with the common condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that he had an argument with a family member at which time he confined her to the residence.  It is further alleged that he was in possession of a knife and threatened the victim with it.  Police were contacted and upon arrest, the male assaulted the officer and resisted arrest.  He has been charged with 1 count of Assault with a Weapon, 1 count of Forcible Confinement, 1 count of Weapons Dangerous, 1 count of Resist Arrest and 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court on the 18th of July, 2010.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

UTTER THREATS and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Meghan Carter, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on the 17th of July, 2010 for breaching her condition and for uttering threats.  She was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that she had an argument with one of her neighbours and threatened to cause her bodily harm and to damage her property.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the female being charged with 1 count of Utter Threats to cause Bodily Harm, 1 count of Utter Threats to Damage Property and 1 count of Breach of Probation. She was held in custody until court.

IMPAIRED OPERATION and OVER .80

Cornwall, Ont. – Donald Quesnel, 45, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of July 18th, 2010.  It is alleged that he operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  Police allege that he operated his motor vehicle on Nelson Street and was stopped by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  The officer alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.  Further testing resulted in a charge of Over .80.  He was released to appear in court on the 26th of August, 2010 to answer to the charges.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – Wallace Junior George Beauvais, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on the 18th of July, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to Reside at a specific address and to notify the Cornwall Community Police Service of any change of address.  It is alleged that sometime during the month of March he moved out of the address and failed to notify the Service as per his conditions.  A warrant for his arrest was granted.  The male was located outside a Cornwall convenience store on the 18th of July and he was arrested on the strength of the warrant for 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance.  He was held in custody until court the following day.

THEFT UNDER $5,000.00, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, WEAPONS DANGEROUS and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Darryl Stephen McNeil, 37, of Toronto was arrested for several offences following a shoplifting incident on the 18th of July, 2010.  He was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that he entered a Brookdale Avenue department store and stole merchandise.   He was apprehended by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and upon being detained, he resisted the detention and threatened the Loss Prevention Officer and another employee with a utility knife.  Police were contacted and he was arrested for 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00, 2 counts of Assault with a Weapon, 1 count of Weapons Dangerous and 1 count of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody for court on the following day.
