Iroquois ON – On July 25, 2010 at approximately 11:22am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a plane crash east of Carmen Road in the Village of Iroquois in South Dundas Township.

The four seater 1967 PIPER (180 Cherokee) was being piloted by it’s owner, 63 year old Robert Lams from Ottawa when the plane caught a gust of wind and overshot the landing strip coming to rest in the field near by.

Injuries to both the pilot and the female passenger were very minor and the collision caused minor damage to the plane.

The Traffic Safety Board was contacted and the agency advised that their preliminary investigation is complete and they will not be conducting a further investigation into the matter.

  1. Not bad. But “its owner” doesn’t have an apostrophe in “its” and I think you’ll find it’s (that one does have an apostrophe) the Transportation Safety Board rather than the Traffic Safety Board.
