Nazem Kadri puts up 3 points as Leafs clip Sens – Alex Kovalev fights! – NHL Scores – September 30, 2010 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Teams are starting to cut down and get ready for the 1st game of the 2010-2011 NHL season.    The Leafs have to decide what to do with Nazem Kadri, their 1st round pick from 2009.   Short on forward scoring punch Nazim is being given every chance to make the big team.

His 3 points playing on the number one line with Phil Kessell certainly helped his cause as Toronto edged Ottawa in a very entertaining game that included an Alex “Big Dawg” Kovalev scrap with D man Francois Beauchemin!  Alright, it wasn’t much of a fight as Kovalev hung on for life!

What would be more of concern for Leaf Nation fans is that 3 of the Toronto goals were on the power play and you just don’t get that many penalties called against you in a regular season game.  None of the Leaf players were + for the night.

In other NHL games the Rangers munched on the Wings 5-1; Nashville 4-3 over Atlanta; 3 first period goals were all it took for the Flyers to put the Islanders down in their 3-1 victory; Washington beat the Bruins 4-1 in Boston; Calgary edged the Islanders other squad 3-2; Edmonton over the Phoenix 4-3 in the shoot out; and San Jose tripled Vancouver 6-2.

  1. Reg -. Any predictions on how the Leafs will do this year? Will they, at last, put you out of your misery? It must be painful being a Leaf fan.
