Habs Shut Out Leafs 2-0 – NHL SCORES – November 20, 2010 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Very classy tribute to former coach Pat Burns tonight at the Bell Centre.   The fans got their money’s worth too as Carey Price shut out the offense-lite Leafs 2-0.

He made the difference as the Leafs were given far too much room to shoot in the first two periods, but like the cliche, that first goal gives you some room, and the Habs played lucky and added another goal to clip the Leafs and send them back to Toronto.

The fans enjoyed a great tribute to Coach Pat Burns who passed away yesterday at 58 ofcomplications from Cancer.    Pat coached Montreal and Toronto.   He won a Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils that included current Habs Captain Brian Gionta and Scott Gomez.  Montreal’s Kosher Connection, Mike Cammallieri and Jeff Halpern scored for les boys with Halpern’s goal being short handed.

Tampa Bay nipped the Sabres 2-1; Nashville needed the shoot out to take out Carolina 2-1; Florida’s 4 goal 2nd Period was all that was needed to sink the Islanders 4-1;  LA needed the shoot out to take out Boston 4-3; Same in Philly as the Flyers edged the Caps 5-4 in the Shoot Out ; Jaroslav Halak got the W in the Blues 3-1 win over New Jersey.

The Rangers were all over the Wild as they beat Minnesota 5-2.  Martin Biron got the W for New York.   Colorado 4, Dallas 3 in the Shootout;  Chicago destroyed the Canucks 7-1; and Matt Garon and the Columbus Blue Jackets shut out the Sharks 3-0.
