Cornwall ON – Here is your police blotter for Cornwall Ontario for Monday December 6, 2010.

FAIL TO APPEAR

Cornwall, Ont. – A 17 year-old Cornwall male turned himself into police on the 03rd of December, 2010 for failing to appear for court. It is alleged that he was scheduled for court on the previous date and failed to attend.  As a result, a warrant for his arrest was requested.  He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on the 13th of January, 2011.  His name is not being released due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER $5,000.00

Cornwall, Ont. – Two 17 year-old Cornwall youths were arrested on the 03rd of December, 2010 following a theft from motor vehicles investigation which began on the 26th of November.  It is alleged that three youths were located in the vicinity of Grand Avenue after police received reports of unlocked vehicles being rummaged through.  Police located three youths on that date and an investigation was commenced.  The two youths have been arrested for 3 counts of Theft Under $5,000.00.  They were released to the custody of a parent and are scheduled to appear in court on the 13th of January, 2011 to answer to the charges.  Their names are withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  The investigation is still on-going.

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – A 25 year-old L’Orignal male was arrested on the 03rd of December, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  The male was further bound by a Recognizance with conditions to Not associate or communicate directly with a specific female, not to attend within 100 meters and further not to attend the City of Cornwall unless in the presence of her surety or parent.  The male was also bound by an Undertaking Order with a condition to not associate with anyone under the age of 18 and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on or about November 19th, the male, unaccompanied by his surety or parent, attended the restricted female’s residence and communicated with her.  It is further alleged that on December 3rd, the male contacted the female by telephone and later sent her a MSN message.  As a result of the breaches, police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The male was charged with 1 count of Breach of Probation, 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance and 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking.  The male was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

IMPAIRED OPERATION and OVER .80

Cornwall, Ont. – Dennis Greehow, 31, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of December 4th, 2010.  It is alleged at the time of the offence he was operating his motor vehicle at a high rate of speed while under the influence of alcohol.  The driver was observed by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service operating his motor vehicle in the vicinity of York and Second Street.  The male was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and transported to headquarters for testing.  This resulted in a further charge of Over .80.  The male was released to appear in court on the 30th of December, 2010 to answer to the charges.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 26 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 04th of December, 2010 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that during an argument with her 25 year-old boyfriend, she assaulted him.  The male did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted on an unrelated matter by the accused and an investigation resulted in the female facing 1 count of Assault.  She was released to appear in court on the 11th of January, 2011.  Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 22 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 04th of December, 2010 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that during an argument with her 28 year-old boyfriend, she assaulted the male twice.  A member of the Akwesasne Police Service attended the area of Pitt and Eighth Street as a result of a call placed to their Service and he transported the couple to the Cornwall Community Police Service Headquarters for an investigation into the matter.  As a result, the female faces 2 counts of Assault and 1count of Mischief Under $5,000.00 for damaging the male’s cell telephone during the argument.  The female was released to appear in court on the 30th of December, 2010.  Her name is not being resulted as it may identify the victim in this incident.

THREATS

Cornwall, Ont. – Krista Dawn Anita Russell, 20, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of December 4th, 2010.  It is alleged that during an argument with a female victim, the accused uttered a threat to cause her bodily harm.  Police were contacted and as a result of the investigation, the female is facing 1 count of Utter Threats.  She was released to appear in court on the 30th of December, 2010 to answer to the charges.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, Ont. – A 37 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 4th of December, 2010 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that during an argument with his 47 year-old common-law, he caused mischief to household property.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male facing 1 count of Mischief Under $5,000.00.  The male was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

MISCHIEF and UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING

Cornwall, Ont. – Nathan Lawrence Lauzon, 23, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of December 4th, 2010 following a mischief investigation.  It is alleged that during a party with acquaintances, the male while under the influence of alcohol, caused damage to a glass top table. The male was escorted out of the apartment and then kicked in the back door to regain entry.  Once inside the male then broke a bathroom window.  Police were contacted and an investigation into the matter resulted in the male facing 2 counts of Mischief Under $5,000.00 and 1 count of Unlawfully in a dwelling.  The male was released to appear in court on the 04th of January, 2011 to answer to the charges.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – Andy Daniel Courville, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on the 05th of December, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Abstain absolutely from the possession or consumption of liquor.  It is alleged that police attended his residence to respond to a 9-1-1 complaint.  Police allege that the male was in breach of his conditions by being under the influence of alcohol and having alcohol in his possession.  He was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance and held released to appear in court on the 30th of December, 2010.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 22 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 05th of December, 2010 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that during an argument with his 22 year-old girlfriend, he assaulted her.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  The male is facing 1 count of Assault and was released to appear in court at a later date.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 34 year-old male, of No Fixed Address, was arrested in the early hours of December 6th, 2010 on the strength of an outstanding warrant for 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking.  It is alleged that he failed to abide by his conditions of no contact directly or indirectly to his wife or child.   The male failed to abide by the conditions set out in his Undertaking and attempted twice indirect contact with his wife and child. The male was located asleep in a rental vehicle outside a Second Street West establishment.  Police further allege that during the arrest, a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service located drugs, believed to be marijuana, in the male’s possession. As a result, the male is further facing 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The male was held in custody until court later that day.   His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

CHARGES LAID

(North Stormont) – On 04Dec10, at approximately 1:00am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Main St. Finch On.

The stop revealed that the 37yr old female driver (Cheryl DODGE of North Stormont) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80mgs / Motor vehicle

She is scheduled to appear 18Jan2011 in Cornwall court.

(North Dundas) – On 03Dec10, at approximately 3:00pm, SD&G OPP officers stopped a vehicle at a R.I.D.E check on Cameron Road, North Dundas Township.

The stop revealed that the 64yr old male driver (Alva John CRAVEN of North Grenville) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

  • Exceed 80mgs / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 04Jan2011 in Morrisburg court.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(North Dundas) – On 05Dec10, at approximately 7:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Lavere Road, Mountain, On.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 27yr old ex-husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

  • Assault

He is scheduled to appear 11Jan2011 in Cornwall court.

BREACHED CONDITIONS
(South Glengarry) – On 04Dec10, at approximately 1:30pm, SD&G OPP responded to a complaint on Old Highway 2, South Glengarry Township.

During the investigation a male involved in the complaint was found to be breaching his earlier release conditions.

The 24yr old male from Montreal, QC was arrested and faces a charge of:

  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
