Habs Burnt By Stars 5-2 – Edmonton Shark Bit 2-1 – NHL SCORES – December 22, 2010 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Two losses to two teams Montreal should have beaten.  Montreal lost 5-2 to a Dallas team that’s been winning, but is beatable.

For this squad to win, like many, it truly has to play like a team.   There have been distractions and hurdles this season.    Markov not starting the season was a rally point for the team which they met.

Since the PK Subban demotion(PK had a fight last night which you don’t want to see too often)  this team has been a bit lost.  Like a cartoon where the character realizes that they’re running on air and plunges.

Other teams now have a more concise “book” on Montreal and their weaknesses are becoming more clear and easier to focus on during a game.

That’s the challenge for coach Jacques Martin until hopefully his GM can find some help.  With all the cap space open to him with the Markov injury I’m a bit bewildered why it’s taking so long.

Many teams try to wait as long as possible to make a move because of how the cap is determined, but Montreal should not be one of those in this humble scribbler’s opinion.

In other NHL Scores San Jose edged Edmonton 2-1; LA shut down and shut out Colorado 5-0; Washington defeated New Jersey 5-1 with no goals for Alex Ovechkin.   It’s funny how Alex can be on a point a game pace and have people wondering if he’s playing hurt or pouting??

Columbus clubbed Calgary 3-1; St.Louis doubled Atlanta 4-2; Craig Rivet was back in the line up and Buffalo defeated Anaheim  5-2.
