Sens Blanked 6-0 by Boston – Habs Win, Carolina Wins and Keep Pace – NHL Scores – January 12, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – The mark of certain players is how their team’s play when they’re out of the line up.  For Ottawa now, their struggles are magnified without their star centre; to the point where the team is about to give up for the season and retool as their GM frankly is kinda stinky.

I feel bad for Ottawa fans.  I tease them a lot, but they are passionate about the game and their really bad hockey team.  Oh, they were shut out 6-0 last night by Boston with Patrice Bergeron padding up his stats with the Hat Trick.

Leafs fans got a real treat.  The team stormed back with 4 third period goals surprising the Sharks 4-2.  Leaf’s rookie goalie James Reimer kicked out 40 of 42 shots.

Montreal fans slept well as the Habs eked out a 2-1 win vs the Rangers.   Hey a win, is a win, is a win. 🙂

Montreal out shot the Rangers 38-26 and Alex Auld was in the net.   Speaking of missing players, check out the Habs record without Roman Hamrlik playing.  I know his agent is and I’m sure you look at Calgary’s record while Roman played there you’d see the same thing.

I still don’t understand those Jaroslav Spacek critics.  Yes he’s older.  Yes he’s over paid.   The man was never a number 1 on D.   His numbers are fine this year and he’s had to put in some minutes many D men his age don’t have to.     He’s certain an asset and not a liability.

In other NHL games last night Vancouver held on to win 4-3 in OT against the now apparently terrifying New York Islanders crew.   Carolina kept pace with Montreal nipping Calgary 6-5 in the shoot out; Phoenix edged Columbus 4-3; Philly stomped Buffalo 5-2;  Florida defeated Washington 4-3 in OT; Nashville blew up Jose Theodore and Minnesota 5-1; and Dallas sanded Edmonton 3-2.

So Sens fans what do you think you’ll get for some of your players as the redo begins and will your GM make it through the season?
