OPP Report Train Derailment in Lancaster Ontario – January 22, 2011

Lancaster ON – At approximately 11:30am SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a train partially off the tracks near Lancaster, Onario.

Early stages of the investigation have revealed that an eastbound CN train lost a portion of its load of steel when it de-railed just west of the village of Lancaster, South Glengarry Township.

There were no reported injuries and SD&G OPP are urging all motorists to avoid County Road 34 (Military Road) in the Lancaster area while crews attend to the scene.

An advisory will be issued when the roadway is re-opened.
