Leafs Win Again – 5-3 over Islanders – NHL Scores – February 8, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – The Leafs did it again!   They scored early and often beating the New York Islanders 5-3.   Phil Kessel didn’t score a goal, but he was on the plus side of the ledger and added a helper.

It was Colby Armstrong night as the beaky forward notched 3 points.   Heck a puck even dinged in off of heavy weight Jay Rosehill!

James Reimer may have a street named after him before his first season is over if the Leaf Nation keeps seeing W’s in the news.

Toronto was outshot 34-26.   Rookie Darryl Boyce, full helmet and all added 3 assists on the night as Toronto has something to celebrate.   The trade rumours are buzzing too; the hottest one that the Leafs and Montreal are talking about D man Francis Beauchemin which would be an interesting pick up for the Habs depending on the price….

In other NHL scores;  the Devils blew by Carolina 3-2 in OT;  Columbus dined on the Penguins 4-1 who are now with out “Geno” Malkin for the season while Sidney Crosby is on the side trying to remember his name after his concussion.

Anti Niemmi and the Sharks shut out the big time offense of the Caps 2-0;  Drew Stafford’s Hat Trick was the difference in the most exciting game, and probably most surprising as Buffalo beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-4; Jaroslav Halak picked up the win and Matt D’Agostini notched the game winning goal in St. Louis 2-1 victory over the Panthers.
