Prominent Community Activist Mario Leclerc Seeks Federal NDP Party Nomination in the Riding of Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry – February 8, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Mario Leclerc, Service Canada payment officer in Cornwall, is announcing his intention to seek the federal NDP party nomination in the riding of Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry.

Leclerc, a resident of Cornwall, also serves as President of the Public Service Alliance Canada (PSAC) Eastern Ontario Council and as President of the Canada Employment and Immigration Union (CEIU) local 621. In addition, Leclerc is a columnist, an executive member of the Cornwall and District
Labour Council and has served on the TVOntario/TFO Advisory Board and on the
Ontario Criminal Injury Compensation Board.

Leclerc stated: “I am committed to ensure that we have a progressive voice before, during and after the election. It’s time that we put the average citizens on top of the agenda. Everyone has the right to dream big and have a chance to flourish.”   “After 27 years of neoliberal medecine under Conservative and Liberal rules, the time has come for change,” said Leclerc.
