Cornwall ON – What a difference a goalie can make; especially in the Play Offs. David Plouffe Shut Out the 1000 Privateers and the Akwesasne Shut down their opponents while hitting the back of the
net six times in their opening round of the play offs.
The series is now tied at 1 as the teams head back to Akwesasne.
The Privateers came out strong in the 1st period out shooting the Warriors 15-9, but Coach Sanseverino must’ve said the right things between periods as the Warriors turned it on out shooting 1000 Islands 17-13 and putting themselves ahead 3-0.
It was Joshua Desmarais two goals that broke the back of the Privateers and opened the flood gates.
Other Warrior goals were scored by Darick Ste. Marie, Ahmed Mafouz, Addison Pelkey, and Miguel Deslisle. There were no fights in the game.
