SD&SG Provincial Liberal Association to Pay Tribute to MPP Jim Brownell – Saturday April 30, 2011 – Best Western PLUS Parkway Inn & Conference Centre – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – The Provincial Liberal Association of Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry will be holding a Tribute Dinner for retiring MPP Jim Brownell on Saturday, April 30 at the Best Western Parkway Inn in Cornwall.

Through two terms as the local representative at Queen’s Park, Jim Brownell has successfully advocated for action from the provincial government on issues ranging from redevelopment for the Winchester District Memorial Hospital, Cornwall Community Hospital and St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre local hospital redevelopment to the creation of the Eastern Ontario Economic Development Fund to the promotion of local tourism and history.

 

“Over the past seven plus years, Jim has truly put Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry on the map,” said Riding Association President Dianne Poirier.  “His legacy can be seen in every corner of our riding; his tireless advocacy for his constituents will continue to resonate at Queen’s Park for a long time to come.  We are pleased to have an opportunity to celebrate a great man who has done so much for our communities.”

The tribute will include A SLIDE SHOW REPRESENTING HIS CAREER.   Entertainment will be provided by The Brigadoons and Quiet Moments.
