Habs Lose at Home 4-2 – Flyers Beat Buffalo – Penguins take Series Lead – NHL PLAY OFF SCORES – April 18, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – It’s going to be one of those years.    Montreal, not a good road team took the first two games from the Boston Bruins in their first round play off series and Boston returned the favour and made this a series picking up a 4-2 win at the Bell Centre.

Mr. Kostitsyn notched 5 shots and a goal, but in the end it was a mirror with the Habs out shooting Boston 36-25 and falling short of putting Boston away.

Tomas Plekanec scored the other Hab goal with Mike Cammallieri assisting on both.   Carey Price took the loss.

Mark Recchi picked up two assists for the Bruins.

Martin St. Louis’ 2 goals weren’t enough for Tampa Bay as they fell behind Pittsburgh 2-1 in their series with a 3-2 loss.   Max Talbot, Aaron Asham, and Tyler Kennedy scored for the Penguins who are fighting hard without stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

The Flyers took a 2-1 series lead over the Buffalo Sabres with their 4-2 win.   Back up Brian Boucher made the start and made Flyers coach Peter Lavoilette look really smart!

Pittsburgh was up 2-0 over the Winnipeg Jets Phoenix Coytes as of press time.
