San Jose Takes 2-1 Lead in Series – Joe Thornton Still Missing in Play Offs – Chicago Avoids a Sweep! Habs up tonight! NHL PLAY OFFS – April 20, 2011

Cornwall ON – It was a great night of play off hockey Tuesday.    Chicago recalibrated a bit with Dave Bolland rejoining the team and contributing a goal and 4 assists as the team decided they didn’t want to be swept by the Vancouver Canucks as they stormed to a 7-2 victory.   They’re still down 3 games to 1, but they have hope and will not be swept.

Mr. Yogurt, Joe Thornton’s play off woes continue, but the San Jose Sharks had a gritty come back win with Devon Setoguchi getting the winner in OT.   It was a barn burner of a game San Jose winning 6-5, but the shots told the tale with SJ having 36 on net compared to 22 for LA.

Ryan Clowe and Patrick Marleau each led the way with 2 points and 5 shots on net.  San Jose now leads the series 2 games to 1.

Montreal is back on home ice tonight with a chance to take a 3 games to 1 lead on the Boston Bruins who showed some life of their own in game three.

It should be interesting to see if Benoit Pouliot is in the line up.   Jeff Halpern has yet to play as he’s still out with injury and many Habs fans want Yannick Weber back in uniform.
