BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred overnight on the 26th of April, 2011 at a Pitt Street community agency.  The suspect(s) broke into the agency by damaging a pane window.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole some money.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

 

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Ashley Susan King, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on the 27th of April, 2011 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by a Conditional Sentence Order with full house arrest conditions unless in the company of a parent.  On the 22nd of March, a member of Community Patrol alleges that he located the female walking on McConnell Avenue unaccompanied, thus breaching her condition.  An investigation into the matter commenced and as a result a Probation Warrant was issued.  She is facing 2 counts of Breach of Probation and was held in custody until court the following day.

 

 

ASSAULT, THREATS and WEAPONS DANGEROUS

Cornwall, Ont. – A 44 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 28th of April, 2011 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that sometime between December 1st and the 20th, during an argument with his 39 year-old common law spouse, the male punched her on the side of her cheek causing an injury.  The victim did not seek medical attention at the time of the incident.  Sometime between the 01st of January and the 07th, the male while in possession of gun threatened that he would harm the victim.  Police were contacted and a search warrant was executed at the male’s residence which resulted in the location of a pistol.  As a result of the investigation, the male is facing 1 count of Assault, 1 count of Utter a Threat and 1 count of Weapons Dangerous.  He was held in custody until court.   His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – A 17 year-old Cornwall male was arrested in the early hours of April 30th, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order, a Recognizance Order and a Probation Order with the following conditions:  to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances, to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Abide by a curfew and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.   Police located the male walking on First Street East and a check revealed that he was breaching his conditions by failing to abide by his curfew.  Further police allege that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time.  As a result, the male is facing 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance, 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking and 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  The male was held in custody until court.  His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

 

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred sometime between 06:00 am and 03:00 pm at a Lennox Street residence.  The suspect(s) gained entry damaging the back door.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a wallet containing identification and cash.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

 

 

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Tyler Geneau, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on the strength of a warrant on the 30th of April, 2011.  On March 12th, 2011 it is alleged that the male failed to attend court and a Bench warrant was requested.  The male was arrested at his residence and was held in custody until court on the 02nd of May, 2011.

 

 

BREAK AND ENTER, PERSONATION, FRAUD, USE OF STOLEN CREDIT CARD

Cornwall, Ont. – Shawn Mallory Leduc and Nathalie Monique Chartrand, both 31, from Cornwall were arrested following a fraud investigation.  Sometime between April 19th and the following day, it is alleged that the couple broke into a west end residence and stole the owner’s identification cards.  On the 21st of April, it is alleged that the couple attended a Water Street East department store and the female produced a credit card and identified herself as the victim of the break and enter.  The female attempted to make purchases with the stolen card.  The store’s sales associate became suspicious and contacted security.  The couple left the store without completing the transaction. Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  On the 30th of April, police attended the couple’s residence and located the female.  She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court at a later date.  The male was not present at the time but was located some distance away.  The male verbally identified himself to police by providing a false name.  Once the male’s identity was confirmed, he was arrested at which time he resisted police.  As a result, he was arrested for 1 count of Resist Arrest and 1 count of Obstruct Justice.  The couple are also facing 1 count each of Use of Stolen Credit Card, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Attempted Fraud and Break and Enter.  The female is further facing 1 count of Personation.  The male was held in custody until court.

 

 

BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – A 48 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 30th of April, 2011 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by a Probation Order with conditions to not have any contact with a specific female and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  On the offence date, police observed the female as a passenger in a vehicle operated by the prohibited female.  The female was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Probation and released to appear in court on the 17th of May, 2011 to answer to the charges.

 

 

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – A 26 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 30th of April, 2011 following a break and enter investigation.  It is alleged that the male broke into his 25 year-old ex-girlfriends’ apartment while she was away.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male facing 1 count of Break and Enter.  The male was released to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – A 33 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 30th of April, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by 2 separate Probation Orders with the same conditions:  to Not associate, contact or hold any communication directly or indirectly with a specific female, to Not be within 50 meters of the female’s residence and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on the offence date, the male climbed through a window into the female’s residence.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male facing 6 counts of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court.  His name is withheld as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

ASSAULT and RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, Ont. – A 30 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 01st of May, 2011 following a domestic disturbance investigation. It is alleged that during an argument with his 26 year-old ex common law spouse, he struck he on the left side.   The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  While police were arresting the male, he resisted police.  The male is facing 1 count each of Assault and Resist Arrest.  He was held in custody until court.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – Lori Ann McConkey, 48, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of May 2nd, 2011 for breaching her conditions. She was bound by a Recognizance Order with a curfew condition.  She was also bound by an Undertaking and a Probation Order with the same condition:  to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on the offence date, the female was operating a motor vehicle in a manner which caught the attention of a member of Community Patrol.  A check of the female revealed that she was breaching her conditions.  As a result, she is facing 1 count each of Breach of Recognizance, Breach of Undertaking and Breach of Probation.  She was held in custody until court.

FATAL COLLISION


(South Dundas) – On 30Apr11, at approximately 8:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to areport of a collision on Waddell Road, South Dundas Township.   The investigation revealed that a 31yr old male was west bound on Waddell Road when (forreasons under investigation) the farm tractor he was operating left the roadway, entered theditch and rolled over.    The male (Robert Montroy of South Dundas) was pronounced deceased at the scene.

TWO CHARGED IN BREAK-IN

(North Dundas) – On 03May11, at approximately 4:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to an alarm on St. Lawrence St. Winchester On.
On arrival police observed two males fleeing the fenced in yard (Hydro One), further investigation found that a cube van on site had been reported stolen from the Ottawa area. A perimeter of the area was set up and the OPP Canine Unit was activated.
After a thorough search two men were located hiding in a wooded area.
A 23yr old male from Ottawa and a 20yr old male from Russell were arrested and face charges of:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Break, Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence

Both men were held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
