Bieksa notches Gordie Howe Hat Trick as Canucks Hammer Sharks 7-3 to take 2-0 Series Lead – May 19, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Roberto Luongo isn’t bored in this series.

His Vancouver Canucks took game two of their play off series 7-3 from the San Jose Sharks in what turned out to be a slugfest with a lot of penalties and Canuck D Man Kevin Bieska scrapping with Shark Patrick Marleau and winning the match taking Marleau apart blow by blow.

Bieksa scored a rare play off Gordie Howe Hat Trick!

A Gordie Howe Hat Trick is when a player notches a goal, assist, and fight in a game.

It was Bieska’s goal mid way through the 2nd period that put the Canucks up and they never looked back.

Dan Hamius had 3 assists for Vancouver as the Canucks take a 2 game to 0 lead in the series.

Condolences to the family of Glenn Cole, long time sports writer and broadcaster who passed away.   I always enjoyed “Coach” and his hockey coverage.
