WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Krista L. Menard, 20, of Cornwall turned herself into police on the 07th of June, 2011 on the strength of a warrant.  On May 10th, 2011 it is alleged that the female failed to attend court and a warrant for her arrest was issued.  She was released to appear in court on the 21st of June, 2011.

 

 

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – A 33 year-old Long Sault male was arrested on the 07th of June, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Not associate or communicate directly or indirectly with a specific female.  On the 05th of June, 2011 it is alleged that the male made contact with his 24 year-old ex-girlfriend by calling her at her residence.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male turning himself into police.  He appeared in court on the arrest date and is facing 1 count of Breach of Recognizance.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

BREACHES, ASSAULT and THEFT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 22 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 07th of June, 2011 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  The male was bound by 2 Recognizance Orders with the following conditions:  to reside with surety at an out of city location and to Abide by the rules of the residence.  The male was not abiding by his conditions as he was residing in the city of Cornwall. On the 04th of June, it is alleged that during an argument with his 18 year-old girlfriend, he grabbed her by the throat and struck her head against a wall.  Police further allege that he slapped her across the face.  Upon exiting their apartment, it is also alleged that he stole her wallet.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  On June 7th, the male turned himself into police and is facing 1 count of Assault, 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance and 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00.  He was held in custody until court.  His name is withheld as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

OVER .80

Cornwall, Ont. – Edgar Andy Rivette, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on the 07th of June, 2011 for Over .80.   It is alleged that the male was in the care and control of a motor vehicle on Second Street East while under the influence of alcohol.  Police were contacted to attend the area in response to an intoxicated male and located him in the vicinity of a motor vehicle.  He was arrested and transported for testing which resulted in the charge of Over .80.  He was released to appear in court on the 21st of June, 2011 to answer to the charge.

 

 

WEAPONS

Cornwall, Ont. – A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 07th of June, 2011.  It is alleged that the young person was found by staff members of a group home to be in possession of a taser.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the female facing 1 count of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and 1 count of Carry a Concealed Weapon.  She was released to the custody of a parent and is scheduled for court at a later date.  Her name is not being released due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 06th of June, 2011 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to not be away from her residence unless in the company of a parent.  She was further bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Abide by a curfew.  On the arrest date, it is alleged that police attended an east end residence to investigate an unrelated matter and spoke with the female.  Police learned that the female was breaching her conditions by being away from her residence unaccompanied by a parent and was also failing to abide by her curfew.  She was arrested for 1 count of Breach of Recognizance and 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  She was held in custody until court the following day.  Her name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

 

ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 35 year-old female and a 26 year-old male of No Fixed Address were arrested on the 06th of June, 2011.  It is alleged that the male had been observed operating a motor vehicle in the west end of the city.   Police were contacted to investigate a domestic disturbance involving the couple. Throughout the investigation, it was learned that during an argument, the female struck her boyfriend in the face.  It was also learned that the male was under the influence of alcohol when he operated the motor vehicle.  The female is facing 1 count of Assault.  The male is facing 1 count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and further testing resulted in a charge of Over .80.  They were held in custody until court the following day.  Their names are not being released.

 

 

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating the theft of a red 2008 Chev Silverado which was recently stolen from a Lemay Street residence.  If you have any information regarding this theft, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

CHARGES LAID

 

(South Glengarry) –  On 07 Jun11, at approximately 1:00am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 25, South Glengarry Township.

 

The stop revealed that the 34yr old male driver (Richard WYLIE of South Glengarry) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

 

He was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80mgs / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 06Jul11 in Alexandria court.

(South Glengarry)- On 07Jun11, at approximately 7:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an assault on County Road 18, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a 50yr old male (Keith LEISHMAN of South Glengarry) and a 22yr old male (Scott JULIEN of South Glengarry) were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in both men being arrested.

The 50yr old male faces a charge of:

  • Assault

The 22yr old male faces a charge of:

  • Assault with a weapon

Both men are scheduled to appear 03Aug11 in Alexandria court.

  1. I’ve been reading police blotters like this for decades.
    Booze. Low education. Conceit.
    Wouldn’t it be better to sell everything up, grab that last cheque and get out of town? Find a different milieu with less drama.

  2. When I’m having a near fascist brain cramp I sometimes wish a different set of cops could show up. Benign, profound philosophical cops with the power to dispense valium, mandatory literacy skills and immediate employment – outside the prison system. I suppose that’s Dick Tracy mixed with Brave New World. Not sure how you can be benign and profound when some drunk is trying to punch your lights out and beat up his love. It’s a high experimental bar.
