He was assisted by Raffi Torres and Kevin Bieska and kept the series to a home team wins it, and puts the pressure back on Boston who have to win at least one game on the road to overcome Vancouver.

Roberto Luongo recorded the shut out quieting those that doubted him after losing two games in Bean town.

Boston out shot Vancouver 31-25 in the close game.

Canadian fans all over the country watched period by period before erupting in the 3rd when Lapierre scores.   In other NHL news Montreal has resigned Andrei Kostitsyn and Matt Darche to one year deals.

And the Brad Richards sweeps are on although the hotly desired and concussed Star has a no-trade clause in his contract. Phoenix traded the rights to their star goalie, Ilya Bryzgalov for a 3rd rounder and a few bits and bobs to Philly who now have to find a way to fit him under their cap.
